There are very few artists that step on stage and just grab your attention. Hop Da Great Aka Hop Cashay is one of those talented artists. He specializes as a hip-hop artist, producer, engineer, & co music director. Hop began making music 10 years ago and fell in love with it. Being the only child growing up was rough and he wanted an outlet to express himself in a positive manner. Hop felt like music gave him a voice and a way to express his emotions. He can get his point of view across in a productive way.
Hop Cashay was born in Harlem in the mid 80's and we all know how Harlem was between the 80's and late 90's. There were times growing up that Hop would play music in order to block out what was going on in the outside world. Little did he know, the music that was being played would influence and have an impact on his pursuance of a music career. Since day one Hop has worked on his craft diligently. So far he has been able to perform in over 50 shows in NYC and out of state. Hop has also been on numerous internet radio shows, countless blogs, and hip hop websites. Still feeling far from where he is trying to go but knowing that nothing comes easy he continues to keep pushing his music.
Coming out of the Bronx with so much to focus on, his approach to keep real issues relatable to day to day topics in his music where hip-hop needs to address serious matters and refocus back on what Hip-hop really means. Hop is the perfect candidate to give hip-hop a voice against obstruction and bring people back together. He gives less gimmicks and false attractions with well put together songs, motivational topics, radio friendly hooks, and great lyrics. It’s hard to compare him to others but if you have to he reminds you of Pusher T(for his street lyrics), J.Cole(for his storylines), and Tupac(for the messages). His music is full of today's subject matter and trials and tribulations. Hop does not know what his future holds but if it goes the way he hopes his music will unit and change the life of millions in a positive way.
